Faraid Calculator

Enter who survives the deceased to see the classical Islamic inheritance shares. Covers spouse, children, and parents.

Who survives the deceased?

Covers spouse, children, and parents, the most common family structure. Grandchildren, siblings, and other relatives are not included, and their presence can change these results.

Estimated shares

Select at least one surviving heir to see a result.

This is general guidance for common family structures, not a fatwa or legal ruling. Distribution should always be confirmed with a qualified Islamic scholar or Sharia court, since the exact calculation depends on the complete set of surviving relatives.

How Faraid shares work

Before any heir receives a share, debts are settled and any bequest (wasiyyah, up to one-third of the estate) is honoured. What remains is divided: fixed Quranic shares go to eligible heirs first, then any residue passes to residuary heirs, primarily sons, who take alongside daughters at a 2:1 ratio. For the full picture, including how this applies specifically in Nigeria, read our Sharia Inheritance Law guide.

The shares are fixed. What you own often isn't written down.

Remayn makes sure your family has a complete list of your assets, so Faraid can be applied to the full picture.
